Enterprise-class, Secure, Reliable, 108 Mbps, PoE Wireless Connectivity The 3Com Wireless 8760 Dual-Radio 11a/b/g PoE Access Point is a cost-effective dual-band, Power over Ethernet (PoE) wireless solution for enterprises of all sizes.
This access point is a fully-featured dual-radio access point that functions simultaneously with an 802.11b/g and an 802.11a radio.Providing ultra-fast speeds of up to 108 Mbps in turbo mode this access point supports up to 64 wireless users per radio, a total of up to 128 wireless users in all leaving plenty of room for growth.
PoE support overcomes installation problems by eliminating the need for an AC power plug at each AP. The 3Com Switch 5500-EI PWR, 3Com Baseline Switch 2226- PWR Plus or other IEEE 802.3af-compliant PoE products can supply both power and data to the access points through Category 5 or 6 Ethernet cabling, giving you flexible installation options in hard to wire or reach locations. For convenience a PoE adapter is supplied with the unit.
Tough WPA/ WPA2 with TKIP and AES encryption provide the latest standards-based security. For additional protection, the AP supports EEE 802.1X and MAC address access control, authentication, and authorization through backend RADIUS servers.
IEEE 802.1Q-compliant VLAN support and VPN passthrough combined with the multiple SSID and security profiles let you design flexible security for different user groups, control access to network resources, and segment user traffic. Versatile Wireless Distribution System (WDS) solves complex wireless connectivity problems, supporting point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and repeater modes. PoE eliminates installation problems with hard to wire or reach locations, supplying power over Category 5 or 6 data cables
IEEE 802.11a and 802.11g standard supports speeds up to 108 Mbps in SuperAG mode for high-speed access and wide coverage Supports toughest industry-standard WPA2, TKIP and US government AES encryption; also supports legacy WEP clients Multiple SSID support allows SSIDs to be bridged together or isolated for flexible security control IEEE 802.1Q VLAN groups users according to data or traffic requirements to segment traffic flow based on business priorities MAC-based and IEEE 802.1X AAA support centralizes wireless security through existing network RADIUS servers Access control screens device MAC addresses to ensure only trusted clients access the WLAN Wi-Fi CERTIFIED IEEE 802.11a/b/g helps ensure interoperability with Wi-Fi-certified products from other vendors; supports both 11a and 11b/g users AP can function as a bridge supporting point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and repeater modes Familiar Web browser interface lets you configure and manage APs from anywhere on the network.
